The unappreciated resource of early stage engineering careers and how CBE Contract Ltd. will passionately support them to the best of our and their abilities.

Welcome to our latest blog post. Today I'd really like to take the opportunity to share with you how CBE Contract Ltd. plan to support and encourage new engineering talent and our reasons for doing so (if it isn't already obvious!).
“Personally, I can attribute my career thus far to a handful of pivotal moments and most importantly, people.”
I would hope that everyone here, reading this will remember how they became the professional that they are today, the passion for a role, the training, the late nights, the falling down and being picked up by the experienced people who took you under their wing.
Personally, I can attribute my career thus far to a handful of pivotal moments and most importantly, people;
People who took a chance on me, who taught and encouraged me, who allowed me to flourish and who, I'll be forever grateful to, (Hi John, Tom, Russ and Peter!).
Our Philosophy.
A primary goal of the company's and one of our reasons to exist is to pass on the kind of opportunities which give new talent the chance to become just that, talent.
With this in mind, CBE Contract will always have a structure of senior, experienced consultants, multi-skilled and vocationally trained, watching over a team of junior staff, earlier in their careers for who, experience is the most valuable asset they can attain outside of a classroom we believe the benefit of this is threefold;
- We get to work alongisde some of the most exciting engineers of the next generations.
- We get to build what we hope will be lasting, lifelong relationships which our junior staff will take with them throughout their entire careers as they become more senior and possibly move into pastures new, an opportunity to increase our network and meet new teams.
- We are able to offer servicess at the correct price for the complexity of the work, our pricing will always scale on the difficulty of the work and this strategy allows us to do this, why would you, as customers pay full consultancy rates to increase the bandwidth of your lower skilled yet essential teams? We offer services at a price point which offers value, no matter what the requirements.
Practical skills first, digital skills later.
As CBE Contract Ltd. grows, we hope (as I'm sure you can gether) to bring on less experienced but enthusiastic team members, it will be our responsibility and most certainly in our interest to teach and develop these people into the best, most rounded and competent talents we can.
With that in mind, we plan to follow a 'practical skills first, digital skills later' program.
I personally am a firm believer that if you have not had hands on experience of a manufacturing process, youll be less effective at designing a part or assembly for that process and I'm in no doubt that similar analogys can be carried across multiple disciplines.
The ability to visualise the component path to fruition, to relate to the manufacturing operatives, to think of the full product lifecycle from inception to completion will always be an essential skill and I don't doubt that the best way to develop these skills is to learn every step of the lifecycle, even if you're only going to be a small part of it (I'd like to think that's why I have such great professional and personal relationships with such a wide variety of people in CBE Contract's supply chain, because listening, learning and applying that knowledge is always at the forefront of my working method and it shows in my designs).
Anyway, enough from me for now, as always, thank you for reading, I hope that this post has given you an insight into why and how CBE Contract Ltd plans to be right at the forefront of developing and nurturing new talent, it's going to be a great journey, why not come with us on it.
Until next time...
